Yeovil PCN Welcomes New Starters

Yeovil PCN are excited to welcome our newest members of staff to our team. Fatima Sawo Physician Associate and Ali Hinkley Apprentice Physician Associate will be working within our Enhanced Health in Care Homes, Urgent Visiting and Urgent Care Clinic workstreams. Their roles will increase access to same day home visits and face to face appointments within the 5 Yeovil GP practices across the town.

The introduction of Fatima and Ali means patients can access more timely care and the PCN can continue to build on the clinical strategy to improving access and enhancing our service provision.

Physician Associates work under the indirect supervision of a General Practitioner, with the ability to seek support and guidance as needed. Physician Associated have a clear scope of practice and have completed a 2 year post graduate education programme to give them the skills and knowledge to undertake this role.


Ross Bate PCN Clinical Lead says 'I am delighted to welcome Fatima and Ali to the team and look forward to embedding them into our team. With their introduction I am able to increase the number of contacts within our residential and nursing homes, and can introduce the concept of rotational roles to keep the job exciting and invigorating for clinicians of all levels.'
